Autunno in Barbagia was born in 1996 when in Oliena an event called”Cortes Apertas” is organized, where the historical houses of the village open their courtyards and among these takes place a food and wine and an artistic itinerary. This formula begins to arouse curiosity and is successful.It is a winning idea: revive the historical centres of small villages that are moving towards a slow abandonment. In the year 2000 the Autunno in Barbagia event was born, in which other villages also participate, for a total of 27 locations.
This is why today we invite you to visit these small villages, it is not only music and traditional dances : come and caress the velvet of the suits of the Mamuthones in Mamoiada,taste the chestnuts in Aritzo, be enchanted by the hands of the housewives who”embroider” the puff pastry of “su pistiddu” or by the filigree jewelry.
